Our Approach

The GFCD is founding an innovative approach that is complementary to the existing approaches used by financial backers. The GFCD proposal consists in analyzing the contents and the effects of urban planning programmes, in supervising technical assistance between local authorities, and in doing the financial engineering work for implementing the projects.
The actions by the GFCD will make it possible to:

• link up any isolated project with the other investments and actions for organization, production, and exchange, for employment training, and for citizen participation;
• reinforce the human and technical capacities of the local authorities as project leaders;
• reduce the implementation lead times and costs;
• avoid wasting resources; and
• develop the alternative techniques that are the least costly and the most appropriate for mobilising local resources
