The projects

The FMDV supports projects for leads by its members.

To benefit FMDV support, applications have to be made by completing the template for submitting a project [template download] . The application is then assessed by the Secretariat before being presented to the Project Selection Committee. The Committee selects the most relevant projects on the basis of fundamental criteria outlined by the FMDV:

- The project must be led by the local authority as the main contracting authority

- The project must respond to basic needs expressed by the population

- The project must involve local inhabitants, as well as local and national stakeholders, in its design

- The project must be part of a regulated local development plan and in line with national legislation

- The project must respect laws relating to human rights, social, economic, financial and environmental legislation and international agreements

- The search for project funding will be carried out in consultation with local and international donors with the strictest respect for international financial regulations, actively working to prevent tax havens and ensuring total financial transparency

Among the working principles and values of FMDV are concepts such as sustainable development, achieving Millennium Development Goals, human rights and social justice. These concepts will be a central focus of the decisions taken.

The Project Selection Committee gathers at least once annually according to the calendar set by the Board of Directors.
